Madame Thespia's Deliciously Diverse Cabaret
| After four years of bombastic, spectacular, fun and somewhat slapdash open mic nights in Exeter and Torbay, Madame Thespia is bringing her unique brand of inclusive creative celebration to Exmouth Festival! Madame Thespia and her longsuffering companion Gustave LeGrump will host an eclectic night of comedy, music, poetry, storytelling and more. No one knows exactly what to expect… least of all, Madame Thespia herself! Madame Thespia's open mic nights are open to everyone but especially designed to platform the work of creatives from under-represented backgrounds, including (but not limited to!) neurodiverse, LGBTQ+, non-binary, global majority, late career and early career artists. Dressing up is encouraged (theme is "Gaia & the Green Man", the weirder the better) - with a prize for the best costume. Want to take part but lacking confidence? Need some help pulling your ideas together? Fret not!! There are two FREE workshops in the weeks ahead of the Festival at Exmouth Library. Friday 26th June 3:30-5pm - Storytelling Techniques Friday 3rd July 3:30-5pm - Getting Ready to Perform (NB. You don't have to attend the workshops in order to perform at the Open Mic!) |
