This fascinating talk by Gordon Campbell-Thomas explores the links between York and India. 

Gordon moved to York in 1986 with his two children, he considers York home now, however after setting up two charities in York he did move away to India for 10 years to do an environmental project based on work done at St Nicholas Fields, India wasn't new to him. He had grown up in Calcutta. His family have lived in India for 200 years, part of the British Raj. Gordon was amazed at the connections between York and India, especially the military connections. He says there is more to India in York apart from curry houses and Indian restaurants.
