National Poetry Day 2024: York Stanza Showcase

Members of York Stanza read their poems at our showcase for National Poetry Day with the line-up curated by much-loved local poet Carole Bromley.

Please join us for this warm and welcoming evening of poetry by a diverse and talented group of poets. Their readings are guaranteed to move you, touch you, surprise you, and bring you joy.

The event takes place in the lovely oak-panelled Marriott Room at York Explore and we will have a bar available on the night. 

We keep all our events free or low cost to enable everyone to attend. When you book your place, if you can please make a donation to help with Explore's costs and enable us to continue running events like this.

Since 1994 National Poetry Day has engaged millions of people with poetry through a range of live events and web-based activities for people throughout the country. 'Counting’ is the theme of National Poetry Day 2024.
