Experiment. Design. Create.
Workshops at Acomb, Clifton, Tang Hall and York Explore Libraries for teens.

Love to make, build or experiment? Interested in putting your ideas in motion?

Join us for a series of interesting, hands-on workshops delivered by HYEN, who are on a mission to bring the fun back into STEM. These workshops will get teens building, experimenting, and thinking like creators. HYEN are backed by Innovate UK and UnLtd, and are focused on building a better and more fun way to learn for the makers, tinkerers, and problem-solvers of all ages.

Attend all 5 workshops or dip in and out, the choice is yours. If you do attend all 5 sessions (at any location) you will be entered into a prize draw to win a £15 Amazon voucher!

Sessions are designed for 13-16 year olds, but open to 11-16 year olds.

Sticky Circuits: Make your ideas glow.

Sticky Circuits is where art meets science. Using sticky back LED modules, you’ll learn how electricity moves while turning simple materials into glowing works of art.  You’ll design light up paper circuits and bring your creations to life on a small 3D printed base. Whatever you make, Sticky Circuits is all about exploring, making and letting your ideas shine!

In this workshop you’ll:

  • Understand the basics of common components, like LEDs and coin cell batteries.
  • Be able to understand polarity and the flow of electronics.
  • Develop confidence in paper based circuit building and debugging.

It’s creative, practical and full of spark. Perfect for art and STEM lovers alike.
