Join us for a new talk from renowned local storyteller, former York teacher and Dickens enthusiast, Brian Oxberry. Brian was a member of the Charles Dickens Society and Dickens Museum in Malton. You may also know him as the father of our beloved Storytime volunteer Bernie!

This time, Brian discusses Wilkie Collins, an author most famous for his Sensational novel, The Woman in White.

Wilkie Collins was one of the two sons of a famous painter. He began to write articles for ‘Household Words’, the magazine created by Charles Dickens. Eventually he became a member of the staff of the magazine and became a friend of Dickens. He wrote many novels, his most famous being ‘The Moonstone’ and ‘The Woman In White’. His brother Charlie Collins married Kate, the artistic daughter of Dickens.

Join brian on Friday 12th June to find out more!
