Our Place Walkshop - Acomb's Hidden History: The Carr
In this Our Place walkshop, supported by York Civic Trust, we will explore the history and heritage of The Carr area of Acomb. Meeting at Acomb Explore at 10am, we will go out on a 90-minute circular walk around The Carr. The route will go up Front Street, Carr Lane, Woodlea Bank, Danebury Drive, Fishponds Wood and Beech Grove, before returning to the library. During the walk we will discuss some of the rich heritage and fascinating stories from this part of Acomb, and there will be opportunity for further discussion back in the library. Please note: the route is around 1.5 miles long, and is not flat, so might not be suitable for persons of restricted mobility
