Our Place Walkshop - Acomb's Hidden History: Westfield & Chapelfields

In this Our Place walkshop, supported by York Civic Trust, we will explore the history and heritage of Westfield and Chapelfields. Meeting at Acomb Explore library at 1pm, we will go out on a 90-minute circular walk around Chapelfields and Westfield. The route will go via Front Street, Askham Lane, Grange Lane, across Westfield Marsh, down Bachelor Hill, and up Gale Lane before returning to the library. During the walk we will discuss some of the rich heritage and fascinating stories from this part of Acomb, and there will be opportunity for further discussion back in the library. Please note: the route is around 1.5 miles long, and is not flat, so might not be suitable for persons of restricted mobility.
