Dipping into Dickens
Join us for a talk from renowned local storyteller, former York teacher and Dickens enthusiast, Brian Oxberry. Brian was a member of the Charles Dickens Society and Dickens Museum in Malton.
This time, Brian reads excerpts from Oliver Twist, David Copperfield, Nicholas Nickleby and The Pickwick Papers. Also, a short story called Captain Murderer, about a man who frequently marries and then murders and eats his brides! Would you believe Dickens heard the nursery nurse telling this bedtime story to his children?
