The Meeting at Limetree House, Acomb in 1861
If you could invite four famous people to a dinner party, who would they be? How about Alfred Tennyson, Anne Lister, Charlotte Brontë and Wilkie Collins?
In 1861 these four notables met right here in Acomb! They met with the new owner of Limetree House, the madhouse in Acomb, to tell him how much the house has had an impact on all of their lives.
Local Historian Alan Powell tells the fascinating story of this meeting, a follow up to "Was this the Woman in White?"
