NEW: Acomb History Walk with York’s Hidden History

Enjoy a history walk around Acomb led by York's Hidden History. 

This new walk will have lots of surprising stories about Acomb's rich history, stretching back thousands of years. 

Join Dr Liam Herringshaw and Dr Simon Rogerson of York’s Hidden History to take a deep dive into the story of Acomb.

Acomb Through Time lasts two hours, with an introductory talk at Acomb Explore, a stroll round Acomb lasting around an hour, and complimentary tea and coffee back at the library. Participants will have the chance to peruse maps, books and specimens relating to Acomb Through Time, and to chat with Drs Herringshaw and Rogerson, as well as fellow participants. The walk follows a step-free route around the historic village, and is suitable for all ages.

Founded in 2021, York’s Hidden History is led by Dr Simon Rogerson and Dr Liam Herringshaw, scientists with a background in teaching and tour-leading, and a fascination with history.
