| This event is part of Stories Unleashed, a half-term festival at York Explore celebrating creativity, characters and imagination. Through performances, crafts, author events and storytelling, this programme brings stories to life and offers fun, interactive experiences for children and families, whether they're avid readers or simply looking to try something new. Stories Unleashed is supported by Libraries Connected as part of the National Year of Reading. Dive into the world of the How to Be books with the Carnegie nominated local children's author Daisy May Johnson. You'll learn about the boarding school with a difference where the students are taught helicopter maintenance and covert ninja skills, and why kale is the absolute worst vegetable of all time. Pick up some top tips behind writing your own page-turning stories and discover why EVERY story should involve cake! *** Each family attending will receive a free signed copy of How to Be Brave (whilst stock lasts!) *** This session is aimed at 7 to 12 year olds Please note: Babes in arms do not require a ticket, but all other children and accompanying adults do require a ticket to be booked to ensure we have sufficient seating for all attendees. Please note our supervision requirements: 8s and Under must have an adult with them at all times during the session. Ages 9–10 need an adult to stay in the library building during the session and to be on hand to support the child if needed. Ages 11+ can take part in sessions independently but will be unsupervised by library staff. Thank you for helping us keep our activities safe. |
