GBTQ+ Men Who Create 🏳️🌈 - Bushcraft & Creative Making
GBTQ+ Men Who Create is a programme of free, creative courses for people who identify as GBTQ+, non binary/transmasc who are experiencing low mental health.
This summer, GBTQ+ Men Who Create invites you to explore ancient bushcraft techniques including wood whittling and pewter casting. Over six weekly sessions you'll learn traditional making skills while crafting both useful and beautiful objects, from carved spoons to woven baskets.
Men Who Create is a programme of free creative courses for men who identify as GBTQ+, transmasculine or non-binary who are experiencing mental health challenges.
Workshops take place outdoors at The Gathering Glade, Stanmer Park and the gardens at Emmaus Brighton & Hove, Portslade. Accessible toilets are available on site. Hot drinks, biscuits, all tools and materials are provided.
Sessions are free, but places are limited. We ask that you can attend all six sessions. If you are unable to attend for any reason, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your place to someone on the waiting list.

- 25 from Brighton city centre towards the Universities – alight at Stanmer Park Entrance, then approximately a 20-minute walk through the park.
Emmaus Brighton & Hove
Address: Drove Road, Portslade, Brighton BN41 2PA
By bus:
- 1 / 1X towards Mile Oak – alight at Old Village, then approximately a 4-minute walk.
- 6 towards Mile Oak – alight at Foredown Close or Old Village, around a 5-minute walk.
What to Wear
- Sensible walking shoes or boots
- Waterproof clothing
- Layers
- Bring water, a hat and sunscreen
Sessions take place outdoors, so please come prepared for the weather.

This course is funded by The Baring Foundation and is for self-identifying GBTQ+ men, transmasculine and non-binary people experiencing low mental health. No previous experience is needed, and group sizes are small to ensure a welcoming and supportive environmenT.
Sessions are free to participants with a suggested cost of £18/£36 per course if you feel able to contribute.
