Dracula
When celebrated vampire hunter Mina Harker is invited to speak at a Victorian scientific society, their aim is to belittle and discredit her ridiculous claims. But as they hear the tale of her fight with the sinister Count Dracula, they are chilled to the bone by a story they will never forget.
British Touring Shakespeare, the team behind previous tours of Frankenstein, The Strange Case Of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde and The Hound Of The Baskervilles, return to Soulton Hall with a revamped version of their innovative and acclaimed adaptation of Bram Stoker's gothic horror classic that will both thrill modern audiences and delight fans of the novel.
As well as General Admission tickets for Dracula, Weekend Tickets are also available that will also admit you to see British Touring Shakespeare's performance of Romeo & Juliet at Soulton Hall on Sunday 2nd August at a discounted rate compared to buying separate tickets to both shows.
The press on previous productions:
The Hound Of The Baskervilles
“The British Touring Shakespeare team have captured the intrigue and the mystery you would expect from a Sherlock Holmes story and made for a most entertaining evening – the game is very much afoot!” – Dave Brockin, Everything Theatre
“This is a cracking production of a great story, adapted with care and performed with fun and flair.” – Cormac Richards, Theatre Plays UK
Frankenstein
“This bold new production breathes new life into Mary Shelley’s gothic classic” – Elisha Pearce, Voice Magazine
“Andrew Hobbs directs with a keen eye on the storytelling and the dramatic sequences are handled really well – engaging the audience and providing tension throughout. The adaptation works really well and it is performed at full tilt in beautiful surroundings; what’s not to like?” – Cormac Richards, Theatre Plays
“More than retelling Shelley’s story, it reanimates it.” – 4/5, Salterton Arts
“This ambitious, impressive gothic tale offers drama, humanity and authenticity, portraying a monster just like Mary Shelley envisaged him.” – 4 stars, Philip Rahm, Everything Theatre
“Thoughtful take on a timeless but tricky classic” – Susan Elkin, London Pub Theatres
The Strange Case Of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde
“Paul Winterford’s central performance is pretty riveting. He gives us a deliberately understated Jekyll, tossing a coin and ruminating. The first transformation scene, when it comes – all stage smoke and coloured lighting – meets all gothically dramatic expectations. Winterford writhes, yells, goes into paroxysm and exudes amoral malice and terror.” – Susan Elkin, London Pub Theatres
“The central storyteller of the novel is the young lawyer Gabriel Utterson, played with some dash and poise by the very talented Tom Thornhill who has an excellent vocal range and stage presence which engages the audience from the off.” – Cormac Richards, Theatre Plays UK
“The transformations between the two sides of the eponymous character were truly impressive.” – Kate Viscardi, East Anglia Bylines
