Treasuring memories: Findings from ARCH
This one-day event is part of The ARCH Project | Archiving Residential Children's Homes (University of Stirling) and is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).
Join us for a day to explore the findings of the ARCH project. This cross-national project led by Professor Ruth Emond and Professor Florian Eßer, looked at how the everyday group care experiences of children and young people in residential care are captured and preserved, in Scotland and Germany.
During the day we will be presenting our findings from ARCH in relation to:
- Memory keeping vs record keeping. Professor Ruth Emond, University of Stirling
- Developing a group archive – the processes and challenges. Malte Heyen, Universität Osnabrück & Dr Siân Lucas, University of Stirling
- Responsibility and predicting future needs. Skye Foster, University of Stirling & Dr Andrew Burns, University of Stirling
- Remembering together & collective remembering. Karl Magee, University of Stirling
- ARCH findings from Germany. Professor Florian Eßer & Dr Maximilian Schäfer, Universität Osnabrück
