We'll be applying the Bible practically so that your team is equipped with top tips and practical skills for real life gospel shaped Children’s Ministry. These fast paced engaging sessions allow plenty of time for your team to chat through how to apply these skills into your own context, or you might want to use this opportunity to chat with like-minded volunteers in other churches around the country.

If you're not able to join us live, don't worry! You'll still receive all of the excellent resources, handouts and videos used in the training session alongside the recording so that you can rewatch it together with your Children’s Ministry team at a time that suits you all best.

Tuesday 10 November, 8-9pm: How to engage the Whole Group

Kids develop at different rates, they learn in different ways, have different characters, and different backgrounds and so no wonder we all find it hard to know how to engage them as one group on Sunday mornings! Come and hear how gathering kids of all ages, abilities, and genders within children’s ministry is a beautiful opportunity to be embraced rather than resented as we show children Jesus and spur each other on in loving God together.

• You’ll be encouraged to lean into the positives and be prepared for the challenges as you chat through the needs of your group as a team.

• You’ll be equipped with plenty of tips to engage your high energy boys, include your timid tiny ones, and capture the minds of the cleverest too.

• You’ll understand what to expect from children’s attention spans, and how to incorporate and embrace the different learning styles in your group so that everyone is engaged and growing in faith, no matter their age, ability, or gender.

Wednesday 10 March, 8-9pm: How to get Kids Excited about the Bible

The Bible is wonderfully exciting, packed full of drama, and oozes the truth that our world needs to hear (not to mention an incredible main character!) Yet so many children find the bible story the least exciting part of Sunday school. Come and join us as we explore how to open the bible on Sunday morning with your kids group so that they love it and not just tolerate it. Be encouraged with fresh ideas, practical tools, and stories of how teaching scripture to children can be creative, engaging, and the best part of your morning.

• Learn the skills to ask the right questions that allow kids to wonder about the truths in scripture and discover an awesome God in the pages.

• Explore fresh ideas for how to bring the bible to life in big group teaching moments as well as quiet one-to-one discussions.

• Discuss in your teams the unique challenges in your group and how you can help your kids discover a love for God’s Word.

• Encourage your team that the bible is engaging and relevant to today’s children and it is possible for every server to engage every child with history’s greatest book!
  
  

Monday 14 June, 8-9pm: How to Help Kids Meet with God

You’ve played some great games, taught a bible truth, and done a cool craft, but now what? In this training session we’ll help you and your team think through how your Children’s Ministry can be a place where kids don’t just know about God, but know God personally. Through teaching, discussion, and testimonies your team will leave envisioned for your kids’ group to be a place where children meet with God and grow resilient personal faith for the long haul.

• We’ll discuss creative ways to get kids praying, helping you make prayer times less about behaviour and more about hearts.

• We’ll explore the vital role that you have in modelling personal faith to the kids in your group.

• We’ll inspire confidence that kids are eager for an encounter with the living God, and that He wants to meet with them.
  

Who should I invite?

Equip training is for anyone who serves with children in church on Sundays, whatever age or experience. You might be the best on your team at engaging with children - this evening is for you! Or you may be the most timid member of the team and feeling as overwhelmed as the kids are - this evening is for you too! We hope that everyone will leave encouraged with new ideas and confidence to make a difference for one child at a time, just like Jesus.

Equip is for your whole team so why not open your home and invite them all round? You could cook up a big Spag Bol, or put out a plethora of puddings. You’ll eat, and chat, and hear great fresh ideas to encourage and inspire you again. Let us train your team, all you need to do is sort the snacks!

Attending in a church group

You can make use of our group ticket which costs £20 and is valid for 5+ members of the same church group.

We recommend meeting in person with your team and joining the training together in person on one screen. Our suggested timings would be:

7:30pm - meet to (eat and) pray
8-9pm - join the training
9-9:30pm - discussion

If meeting in person is not possible, we will have organised a remote breakout room for your team members to join you in. This will be done for any church with 2+ tickets booked so there is no need to email us a request. 

Attending by yourself

If you are buying a single ticket, you can either be allocated to a breakout group with others or work by yourself.

If you can't attend

If you can't attend but would like a recording of the training, please purchase a ticket and you will automatically be sent the recording the next day.

Zoom training runs from 8-9pm with an optional further discussion in your teams for 9-9.30pm.
