Faiths4Climate Conversations 2026

Sun 8 Feb 2026 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM ISNA Canada, L5J 2M4

Registration: $10 (Includes meals)

As part of World Interfaith Harmony Week 2026, Faith & the Common Good, EnviroMuslims, ISNA Canada, Shoresh, the Jesuit Forum for Social Faith and Justice, Green Ummah and the Reconnection Project are working together to host our 3rd Faiths4Climate Conversations on February 8 at ISNA Canada in Mississauga.

This event unites faith leaders from across various religions and spiritual groups,  climate activists, and environmental organizations from across the GTA. We will spend an inspiring day together focusing on the importance of interfaith collaboration for a just and sustainable future.

For 2026, our third annual conference spotlights the theme of intergenerational collaboration in addressing the climate crisis — recognizing that sustainable solutions for climate action emerge when lived experience meets youth innovation.

Join us in February 2026 for thought-provoking dialogue, experiential learning, and conscious networking. Discover how intergenerational partnership within our interfaith community can drive meaningful change for our shared sustainable future.

Workshops/Breakout Sessions (Choose one)

- Funding challenges and opportunities
     -Areej Riaz, EnviroMuslims

- Community Engagement
-Rajbalinder Ghatoura and Harleen Sandhu, Kudrat di Rakhia
This workshop explores how to initiate, sustain, and achieve impact through effective grassroots initiatives. Drawing from KDR’s hands-on experience in community organizing, participants will share and gain practical insights into building movements from the ground up and creating meaningful, lasting change. The session will guide attendees through key stages of grassroots engagement, including:

  • Starting a grassroots initiative: Defining your mission, setting clear goals, and identifying what success looks like.
  • Engaging and growing your community: Exploring effective outreach strategies, media platforms, and engagement tactics to expand your reach and build momentum.
  • Navigating common challenges: Addressing obstacles such as volunteer recruitment and retention, funding limitations, and long-term sustainability.

- Advocacy
      -Cheryl McNamara, KAIROS Canada
Unsure about advocating for climate action with your elected official? Cheryl McNamara draws on 15 years of experience advancing climate and human rights policy to lead this interactive workshop on the why of advocacy —and the practical skills that make it effective.

- Listening Circles/Communal Discernment
-Trevor Scott, SJ, Jesuit Forum for Social Faith and Justice
In our commitment to climate justice and action within our communities we often lose sense of how to communicate this commitment in fruitful ways to others not so committed or convinced. This workshop, led by Trevor Scott, SJ, will explore and emphasize the value of communal reflection and listening upon issues and concerns towards climate action, rooted in experiences of circle sharing and spiritual conversation.
