Falasteen on Film presents :: A FIDAI FILM by Kamal Aljafari at Eastside Projects

Thu 10 Apr 2025 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM Eastside Projects, B9 4AR

Falasteen on Film is excited to present A FIDAI FILM in collaboration with Eastside Projects, an artist-run multiverse based in a free public gallery in Digbeth.

Join us for the West Midlands premiere of Kamal Aljafari’s latest experimental documentary film, an act of “sabotage” that reinterprets materials hidden in israeli archives, and proposes a counter-narrative of a continuous history of appropriation.

Synopsis: In the summer of 1982 the Israeli army invaded Beirut. During this time it raided the Palestinian Research Center and looted its entire archive. The archive contained historical documents of Palestine, including a collection of still and moving images. Taking this as a premise, A Fidai Film explores the visual memory of this looting and appropriates images now in the hands of israeli archives.
