Who is this training for?
Families Outside's training modules are for any professional who may have the opportunity to support families affected by imprisonment in their role.
All of our modules will aim to meet the following objectives:
- Understand the impact imprisonment has on the whole family in order to reduce stigma and social isolation
- Improve the overall experience for families, including children and young people, navigating through the criminal justice process from arrest to release
This module will focus on:
- Learning about the wide ranging issues that can affect families with a family member in prison
- Hearing examples of how a family might be affected at each stage of the criminal justice process
- Learning how to apply this knowledge when supporting families affected by imprisonment
Our training has interactive elements and involves a combination of PowerPoint presentation delivered by our trainers, breakout room activities and group discussion. It is not recommended to join via a mobile phone or for more than one person to join on the same screen. Participants will receive an email with the joining instructions a week in advance of the session.
