About this online group:
Following the success of our Keeping Mum course, a regular bi-monthly
support group for alienated mothers will begin on May 13th at 5pm UK
time.
Working with the
psychological understanding of how mothers are rejected by their
children aspart of an ongoing pattern of coercive control and post
separation abuse, this group will provide a consistent anchor for
mothers which is facilitated by Karen Woodall.
Framed around the
psychological recovery process from post separation abuse used by the
Family Separation Clinic, this group offers education, guidance and
support before, during and after family separation where children are
captured by an abuser.
Working with mothers
who are rejected by their children it is clear that many face the
crossfire of allegations that they are alienating their children,
even while their children are being manipulated against them. Because
mothers who face this complexity of dynamics, they are often in need
of additional support to enable them to understand how to manage the
family court system as well as the psychological responses of their
children.
Utilising the
extensive knowledge base of the Clinic, with the experience of
working in the family courts around the world, Karen Woodall offers a
connecting, containing and consistent approach to managing the trauma
of being rejected by a child. Focusing on structural management,
including how to present your case and manage the dynamics in the
court process, this regular support group will assist you to build a
strong and confident sense of self and psychological understanding of
your children and how to help them.
This group is based upon a psychological understanding of coercive control and by integrating clinical insight with legal literacy, it helps mothers to become strong advocates for the needs of their children, whilst simultaneously working to shift the intergenerational patterns that perpetuate psychological harm.
