In celebration of International Women’s Day, The Centre for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion is proud to welcome former Premier Kathleen Wynne on March 3 at 10:30 am in the Canada Life Village Square (Innovation Village). Join Executive Director, Student Wellness, Accessibility, and Belonging, Joseph Pazzano, as they engage in conversation with the former Premier about her experiences as Canada’s first openly gay head of government and Ontario’s first woman premier. With over 20 years in public life, Wynne also served as a Member of Provincial Parliament, Ontario’s Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Minister of Aboriginal Affairs, Minister of Transportation, Minister of Education, and Minister of Agriculture and Food. Premier Wynne will share lessons as a woman who was responsible in leading the province and offer perspectives on navigating times of challenge, the role of media in forming public perception, and empowering students and staff to champion equity work and inclusion for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Every Fanshawe community member – regardless of their background or experiences – will take something away from this crucial conversation. Don’t miss it!

We invite you to submit questions you may have for Kathleen ahead of the event to edievents@FanshaweC.ca and we will do our best to incorporate them in the interview. Questions will not be taken from the room. Please submit your suggestions by 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18th, for consideration.

Fanshawe staff will receive credit toward their EDIfied Learning Series certification by attending this event.

Staff and students from the regional campuses can reach out to edievents@FanshaweC.ca to request a zoom link.

The Centre for EDI is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible experience. If you require accommodations to participate in this event, please contact edievents@FanshaweC.ca as early as possible.
