Forest monitoring plays a vital role in conserving forests, supporting climate action, and strengthening the land and tenure rights of Indigenous Peoples.

Join Indigenous Peoples' leaders, government representatives, researchers and climate experts during London Climate Action Week to explore how forest monitoring can advance conservation, transparency and accountability, while unlocking opportunities for results-based finance. The discussion will also highlight contributions to key global initiatives, including the Intergovernmental Land Tenure Commitment and the Tropical Forest Forever Facility.

Community-led stewardship is among the most effective ways to protect forests, yet many communities still face barriers to formal recognition, access to data and financing. The event will showcase efforts to address these challenges, including the launch of new chapters of the AIM4Forests Community of Practice on Forest and Tenure Monitoring with Indigenous Peoples.

Engage with the UK-FAO AIM4Forests and Norway-FAO SEPAL programmes, and be part of the conversation on strengthening forest monitoring for people, forests and climate.
