In this free online talk Katy Hessel, founder of the Instagram account and podcast The Great Women Artists
will speak to Ami Bouhassane, granddaughter of Lee Miller, and two contemporary female artists Maisie Cousins and Charlotte Edey, about Lee Miller's amazing life, diverse career and her lasting legacy today.
The talk will be followed by a Question and Answer session.
Farley Farm (Farleys) is the home of the legendary photographer Lee Miller. Tucked away in the Sussex countryside, today Farleys continues to be run by her family, looking after both Lee's important photographic archives as well as homing the surrealist art collection of Lee and her husband Roland Penrose. Sadly Farleys was affected badly by the Covid-19 pandemic and was forced to hold an emergency crowdfunder which with great support avoided Farleys permanent closure and raised funds to conserve its iconic fireplace. Now the gardens of Farleys, the gallery and a special temporary exhibition of "Lee Miller and Picasso" have recently opened to the public again, but the Lee Miller Archives and Farleys still need support to get through winter and for the Lee Miller Archives continue their work of conserving Lee Millers legacy. Any donations to help Farleys and the Lee Miller Archives through this next phase will be most welcome.
All funds raised through this talk will go towards securing the future of Farleys and the Lee Miller Archives.
