“The Living Table” is an immersive dining experience — a sensory supper that brings together the farm, seasonal food, music and guided practices to explore what it means to eat as an inhabitant of place.
What does it mean to eat as an inhabitant of place?
Through land, food, sound, story, senses and the multiplicity of ways of knowing that make us human, we explore eating as a practice of relationship with the places, people and living systems that sustain us.
Drawing upon enduring human patterns of place, seasonality, reciprocity, silence, hospitality, story, belonging, beauty and celebration, the evening asks what new cultures of inhabitation might emerge when we attend to and cultivate relationship with food and place.
Our intention is to create an evening that goes beyond a traditional supper club. Together we will go on a journey that reconnects us with where our food comes from, the people who grow it, and the importance of slowing down and experiencing food with presence.
Farmacy Chef, Olwyn, will be curating a four course meal designed around themes such as seasonality, beauty, family heritage and the relationships that make Farmacy such a unique place.
Throughout the evening, Garwyn Linnell and Sound Travels will accompany each course with its own live soundscape, inspired by ancient folk traditions and weaving together voice, flutes, cello, drums, dombra and many more — the music evolving alongside the meal, from subtle and nature-inspired to more expressive and emotional as the evening unfolds.
ON THE EVENING YOU WILL:
- Arrive to a herbal tea infusion made from herbs grown on the land
- Join a guided walk of Farmacy’s biodynamic farm
- Share a four course meal prepared by Farmacy
- Experience a live musical offering from Garwyn Linnell and Sound Travels
- Close the evening with a biodynamic herbal infusion from the farm
