Asiatic & Mediterranean - Beginners Course (Short)

This course covers the following skills and objectives:

• 2 hours: (Session 1) Summary of Mediterranean Archery using a barebow

• 4 hours: (Sessions 2 & 3) Detailed exploration of historic Mamluk Archery from Taybugha’s 1368CE manual.

• Also a summary of the three schools of Mamluk Archery (Abu Hashim al-Mawardi, Tahir al- Balkhi & Ishaq al-Raqqi) are taught

Basics:

• Safety on the range, including retrieval of and carrying of arrows

• Basic equipment knowledge and stringing a horsebow

• Archery etiquette on the range, and whilst shooting

• Shooting indoors at 15 yards.

Duration: 2 Hours

Timing: 1:30pm - 3:30pm

Session 1: Sunday 8th November 2026 (2 Hours)  

Session 2: Sunday 15th November 2026 (2 Hours)

Session 3: Sunday 22nd November 2026 (2 Hours)
