Tiraz Grading System:

Within the Mamluk Academy, there exists a specific grading system for archers, which is done through a system of insignias called "Tiraz." In Mamluk history, warriors were recognized by the Tiraz they wore on their arms, which contained information about themselves and their units. There are four distinct classes in our grading system, and each class has five different coloured Tiraz.

Each Tiraz reflects a student's dedication to Mamluk tradition and archery skills. Every student at the Mamluk Academy diligently works to earn their Tiraz, carrying the pride of being part of the Mamluk tradition.

Culban Class – Ground Archery

The Culban class, which was the unit of recruits in Mamluk history, forms the basis of Mamluk archery. Every archer who completes the 5-week basic mamluk archery program, at FEAC or other UK Mamluk clubs, enters the rating system with this class. In this class, archers' performances, techniques and knowledge are evaluated. Each archer who reaches a level is presented with a badge/arm band representing that level by his instructor.

Summary Cülban Performance Exams:

1) Brown Tiraz: 25 arrows & 10m & 80cm Tablah Target & 50 points

2) Yellow Tiraz: 25 arrows & 12m & 80cm Tablah Target & 75 points
