Margins and Moonlight 2027

Margins 27: Margins & Moonlight Book Fair & Literary Ball

September 18 and 19, 2027

ACCA Shriners Center

1712 Bellevue Avenue, Richmond, VA 23227

Margins & Moonlight is coming back to Richmond! Join us for another weekend of books, author signings, vendors, panel discussions, and a Saturday evening Literary Ball.

We’re excited to welcome back familiar faces and introduce you to new authors and vendors. Whether you came out to our first event or will be joining us for the first time, we’d love to have you with us.

This year, we’re moving to a Saturday and Sunday schedule, with a Friday evening mixer to start the weekend.

Friday, September 17: Welcome Mixer

We’ll get things started Friday evening with a mixer at a local Richmond business or bar. Attendees, authors, and vendors are welcome to come out, meet each other, and spend some time together before the convention opens Saturday morning.

Location, time, and additional details will be announced closer to the event.

Saturday, September 18: Book Convention

10 AM to 4 PM

Spend the day meeting authors, getting your books signed, shopping with vendors, and sitting in on panel discussions. We’ll have programming throughout the day, with time to browse, talk books, and find something new to take home.

Expect fantasy, horror, romance, local authors, LGBTQIA+ voices, and plenty of opportunities to discover your next favorite read. Literary cosplay is encouraged, and the book convention welcomes all ages.

Saturday, September 18: Literary Ball

7 PM to 11 PM | Ages 18 and up

Come back Saturday evening dressed for the occasion! Join us for music, dancing, drinks, and programming throughout the night.

Formalwear and literary cosplay are encouraged. Bring your friends, dress as a favorite character, or wear something you’ve been waiting for an excuse to put on.

Select vendors may remain open during the ball for anyone who wants to keep browsing between activities.

Sunday, September 19: Book Fair

10 AM to 3 PM

Join us again Sunday for another day of books, signings, and shopping. We’re planning a brunch-style food vendor alongside mimosas and other drinks, so you can grab something to eat and enjoy a relaxed finish to the weekend.

The book fair will conclude at 3 PM.

We’ll share author and vendor announcements, programming details, and more as we get closer. We’re excited to build on our first year, and we hope you’ll be part of Margins 27!
