About Chef Chris Coleman
While a culinary student at Central Piedmont Community College, Chris took a job as a line cook at the McNinch House, fine dining restaurant that is a Charlotte staple. He was quickly promoted to head chef at the age of 21, and he’s continued to build on that success in the Charlotte region. Now, Chris is the chef and a partner at The Goodyear House in NoDa, and he opened Old Town Kitchen & Cocktails in nearby Rock Hill, SC. Recently he became the owner of farm to table restaurant, Haymaker in Uptown. He brings technique and creativity to a local food sensibility, supports area farmers and food producers, and his cooking is familiar yet always with a twist.
The Goodyear House
In the early 1900s, when a family had a good year, they would sometimes add to their homes. The house took on a new shape when the family was flush. In fallow years, the house remained untouched. In the good years, the colors and style of growth might not match exactly. The Goodyear House was brought to life in a1900s mill home, the modern design reflects that historic aesthetic.
