Sini Simonen, Amy Norrington and Alasdair Beatson are celebrated artists in demand all over Europe and we are delighted to welcome them to Fellowship House for the first time.
Beethoven’s first published piano trio shows the young composer already giving notice of his ambitions with his unprecedentedly expansive, almost symphonic treatment of the genre.
Schumann’s G minor Piano Trio is one of the sizeable number of works dating from the final years in which the composer’s mental faculties were beginning to fail him. And yet these works, sometimes dismissed by his friends and contemporaries, are today highly regarded precisely for their unconventional qualities and their phantasmagorical moments of magic.
