Racial Innocence: Unmasking Latino Anti-Black Bias

Fri 6 Dec 2024 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM Khalili Lecture Theatre, Lower Ground Floor, SOAS University of London, WC1H 0XG

The Feminist Centre for Racial Justice, School of Law, and the Centre for Pan African Studies present a book talk by Professor Tanya K. Hernández.

Professor Tanya Katerí Hernández is the Archibald R. Murray Professor of Law at Fordham University School of Law, where she serves as an Associate Director of its Center on Race, Law and Justice.

Prof. Hernández will discuss her book: Racial Innocence: Unmasking Latino Anti-Black Bias and the Struggle for Equality, which challenges common ideas about racism and bias while also demonstrating that it’s possible for a historically marginalised group to experience discrimination and also be discriminatory.

The talk will be moderated by Professor Eddie Bruce Jones, Head of School of Law, SOAS University of London

If you are unable to attend in person you are welcome to join us virtually via Zoom by registering here.
