Blue Skies Yonder: A Staged Reading
A reading of a new dark comedy by Peter Fenton will be staged in downtown Trenton on October 19, 2025 at 2pm at Artworks (19 Everett Alley, Trenton, NJ 08611). Blue Skies Yonder, written by Fenton, has been in development since August 2024 and will see its first public presentation with this upcoming event. The reading will be directed by Trenton actress, writer, and acting coach Monah Yancy and will star Fenton himself in the role of Harrison Fowler.
Joining Fenton in the cast are Avery Kellington (Abandon All Hope), Samuel Cheng, Jim Fenton, Dave Garrett Sarrafian, Brittaney Delsarté Chatman, Minh-Chau Scott, and Hayley Jo Pellis.
This play is a contemporary Agatha Christie-inspired locked room murder mystery in the shadow of late-stage capitalism. At his lavish book launch party, a promising young author spirals under the weight of a mismanaged manuscript and the deadly ambitions of his colleagues and loved ones. In company with big money and bigger ambition, someone threatens to get away with murder, and in the cutthroat world of publishing, the real killer might be whoever tells the best story. This play is a dark comedy about queer survival, creative ownership, and the stories we tell to stay relevant—even if it kills us. The reading will begin promptly at 2:00pm and is expected to end around 4:00pm. Admission and parking will both be free.
