Advanced ticket sales are now closed. Tickets for general admission and all of the talks will still be available at the fair.

This year we are providing the option of purchasing tickets in advance to enter the fair.  But if you prefer, you may still just show up and pay for admission at the fair entrances. 

Why buy an advanced ticket? 

In the past there have been complaints that it was difficult to get admission to see talks by popular speakers. If you purchase your entry ticket in advance, you will also have the option to purchase ahead of time a ticket to hear your favorite speaker. We are pre-selling up to 50 tickets per talk but the remainder of the seats will be up for grabs 30 minutes before each talk.

Advanced Tickets: Detailed Explanation

When you arrive at the fair entrance you must present your ticket in order to get an entry hand stamp to show that you have paid. Children under 12 are free so they don't need an advanced ticket.

Room 3 talks will require purchase of a separate ticket for each talk you want to hear. Although talks are free for children under 12, they still will require a separate (free) ticket since seating and room capacity are limited. You should plan on arriving no later than 30 minutes before talk time so you can redeem your ticket for a door card to get you into the talk.

You will need to buy a General Admission ticket along with your talk tickets; you can't come just for the talk

Do I need to buy a General Admission ticket if I just want to hear a talk?

Yes

Can I just wait and buy my tickets when I arrive at the fair?

Yes, but you might not get into the talk you want to hear. About 1/2 of the tickets will offered for sale ahead of time.

The talk I wanted to see is SOLD OUT.  Is there still any way to get tickets?

Yes, half of the admissions will be available for purchase at the fair .

Does everyone need a ticket to attend talks in Rm 3

Yes, although tickets are free for children under 12

Can I just look at the displays in the hallway and visit the indoor and outdoor vendors without buying a ticket?

Yes, but you will not be able to enter the auditorium with the mushroom displays or attend any of the scheduled programs.
