Skafield 3 LINE UP
Their anticipated soulful revival ska received 48k views when formed in 2020. Their narrative is positivity, strength and dignity, putting down a mesmerising pulse for dance. Capturing a golden era echoing the sounds of The Skatalites, Alton Ellis, Toots & the Maytals with sincerity and a touch of class. They rub shoulders with the likes of Bad Manners, Madness, The Beat, Neville Staple + DOGP.
Sister Suzie and The Right Band
The glorious Sister Suzie played and stunned us all with her R and B Band, it's not ska BUT it is fantastic music and she raised the roof, in true Ska sentiment, she is a welcome and loved addition to the lineup..
The band’s 6ft+ frontman ‘Two-Tone Malone’ is fast becoming a favorite with audiences, with his lively performances and unmistakable 2-Tone mohican. A major highlight for the band was being joined on stage at The 2-Tone Village in Coventry by Neville and Christine ‘Sugary’ Staple, for an unexpected rendition of Monkey Man, as part of the MadChat.co.uk Charity Event (July 19).
"The best in British Reggae" David Rodigan
This is Captain Accident’s 4th album to date & delivers a fresh & uplifting brand of soulful ska, roots & reggae music laced with dark lyrical content that is full of cutting social & political commentary. Good stuff indeed that is not to be missed.
Kevin Flowerdew - Do The Dog Music"Bad Press” transports us effortlessly way back in time nearly half a century to the high water mark of old school roots reggae, dub and ska evoking the prophetic and soulful sounds of the likes of Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, Burning Spear, Jimmy Cliff et al while lyrically we stay firmly in the now. Von Goloka - All Music MagazineMusically, Captain Accident calls down the power of bands like UB40, The Toasters, Jimmy Cliff, The Wailers, Judge Dread, and Chris Murray. While predominantly influenced by reggae music, fans of a more traditional ska or rocksteady sound will also find a kindred spirit with Bad Press. At its heart, you’ll find plenty on there to dance to, but dig a little deeper and you’ll hear songs about love, politics, and social issues. Much like the roots reggae that inspired the album, the songs don’t shy away from hard hitting topics.
