Description
Book Week Scotland 2024
Fife Writes brings you a brand new writing workshop by the wonderful poet and writer Andy Jackson.
‘15 Minute Masterpieces’
Andy Jackson will lead this 2 hour workshop which will focus on short-form writing skills. For inspiration you’ll be introduced to poetry and short prose pieces from Scottish writers and then be encouraged to let your own creative masterpiece flow onto the page. Refreshments included.
Andy is an experienced facilitator and has led many workshops and creative writing sessions. He has published several collections of poetry and edited many other anthologies and online projects. He has been a Federation of Writers Scotland Makar and was a Royal Literary Fund Fellow for the University of Stirling from 2021 -2023.
He is currently co-editor of the long-running broadsheet Poetry Scotland and also works with Lapidus Scotland to promote creative writing as a means of promoting well-being. In addition to this he has led therapeutic writing classes at the Maggie’s Centre in Kirkcaldy, supporting people who are living with cancer. He also facilitates a Reading Round Programme for Dundee Library and Lifelong Learning Dundee. If all that doesn’t keep him busy enough he’s also judged many local and national writing competitions.
