Welcome to Marxist University 2022, four days of online discussion dedicated to understanding the fundamental principles of Marxism, hosted by the International Marxist Tendency on 23-26 July.

The world is in a deep crisis. War, inequality, suffering and the pandemic have become the new normal for life under capitalism. Yet the ruling class, politicians, and their ideologues in bourgeois academia have proven their inability to even understand the seemingly chaotic world we live in, let alone change it for the better. In all this uncertainty, Marxism stands out as the only method capable of making sense of the turmoil and providing a practical basis to fight for our future.

For this reason, Marxist University 2022 will focus on the three pillars of Marxism: the revolutionary philosophy of dialectical materialism, Marx’s economic insights into the contradictions of capitalism, and historical materialism, the Marxist approach to history. There can be no better antidote to the confusion of today’s world than studying these fundamentals and learning how we can defend them against the attacks of capitalism’s apologists.

Bienvenue à l’Université marxiste 2022 : quatre jours de discussions en ligne consacrées à la présentation des principes fondamentaux du marxisme, un événement organisé par la Tendance marxiste internationale du 23 au 26 juillet.

Le monde est plongé dans une crise profonde. La guerre, les inégalités, la souffrance et la pandémie sont devenues la nouvelle normalité de la vie sous le capitalisme. Pourtant, la classe dirigeante, les politiciens, et leurs idéologues dans les universités se sont montrés incapables de comprendre le monde apparemment chaotique dans lequel nous vivons, et encore moins de l’améliorer. Au milieu de toute cette incertitude, le marxisme se distingue car il est la seule méthode capable de donner du sens à ce tumulte, et de fournir une base pratique à la lutte pour notre avenir.

C’est pour cela que l’Université marxiste 2022 se concentrera sur les trois parties constitutives du marxisme : la philosophie révolutionnaire du matérialisme dialectique, les brillants apports économiques de Marx sur les contradictions du capitalisme, et la conception marxiste de l’histoire, le matérialisme historique. Il n’existe pas de meilleur antidote à la confusion du monde actuel que d’étudier de ces idées fondamentales, et d’apprendre à les défendre contre les attaques des défenseurs du capitalisme.
