Film London Labs: The Games Sessions
The Games Sessions are back, in collaboration with Games London!
The worlds of film and games have long been intertwined, continuously influencing how we craft and experience compelling stories. With game engines and interactive technologies reshaping filmmaking, this leads to unlocking new creative possibilities. From narrative design in games to real-time production techniques, participants will explore how these innovations shape genre, theme, and audience’s experience.
Building on the ground-breaking feature Grand Theft Hamlet which we've talked about in the last year, we thought we’d take a deeper look at how film and games continue to influence each other. Exploring how to harness game-making tools, like Unreal Engine, to elevate cinematic storytelling while uncovering how filmmakers and productions are leveraging cutting-edge technology, transforming the creative process. Additionally, we’ll examine how games continue to innovate with narrative storytelling, enhancing the gameplay experience and uncovering opportunities for writers to apply their skills.
Geared towards filmmakers and games creatives who are interested in leveraging game-making tools for filmmaking while gaining a deeper understanding of the games industry from a storyteller’s perspective.
