Welcome to BFI NETWORK Shorts School!

For this edition, we’ll be focusing on the role of the producer—offering practical insights for short film producers who are developing a project or already in production, while also demystifying the producing process for all filmmakers.

Over the course of the week, participants will hear from experienced producers with a strong track record in short-form filmmaking, including those whose projects have been supported by the BFI NETWORK Short Film Fund and beyond. Sessions will explore the key challenges and responsibilities of producing, from finding the right collaborators and projects,  managing financing and production, to navigating the industry as a producer.

There will be Q&A’s, roundtables, the chance to view short work that’s come through the Short Film Fund, as well as a networking session to meet peers and potential collaborators. Although this is primarily focusing on producing, this is open to producers and filmmakers!

Our guest speakers include;

  • Jessica Palmarozza, Producer, Flumeri Films (Hard to Reach)
  • Danielle Goff, Producer, Lunar Pictures (The Launch)
  • Precious Mahaga, Freelance Producer (Cameraman
  • Sam Hudson Brown, Associate Manager, 42

FREE TO ATTEND! (all session will take place on Zoom). We'll aim to post the schedule and timings in the coming weeks.
