The Experience: Pure Sensory Pleasure and Indulgence

Join us for an evening of definitive luxury dining in the private Library Room at The Castle Pub, Farnham. Limited to just 20 guests, this is not simply a dinner; it is an intimate, highly exclusive culinary tour de force dedicated to showcasing the very best of South African fine wine—the superstars that rarely leave the cellar.

You will enjoy a meticulously bespoke 5-course menu crafted by our chef specifically to complement five world-class South African wines. This is the definitive experience for the discerning wine enthusiast.

The Wine List: Iconic & Unforgettable

Your evening includes pours of five exceptional, hand-selected wines, with their specific identities revealed upon serving:

  1. The Cap Classique Starter: The pioneering South African sparkling wine, famous for being the first traditional-method sparkling wine established in 1971. The producer has been recognized multiple times as 'South African Sparkling Wine Producer of the Year' by local critics. Awarded 90 Points by Tim Atkin MW, this historic pour is the perfect launch to your evening.
  2. The Signature White: A 96-point Chenin Blanc, lauded by critics as a 'benchmark wine' from the Cape, this white wine is a true South African masterpiece. Christian Eedes stated it is "extraordinarily compact and concentrated with bracing acidity and a finish that goes on and on." (Scores: 96 Points - Christian Eedes; 92 Points - Tim Atkin MW)
  3. The Young Gun Red: This elegant red wine was awarded an exceptional 95 Points by Robert Parker Wine Advocate and 94 Points by Neal Martin (Vinous). Neal Martin praised its 'exceedingly fine and elegant style.' This wine is produced by an estate whose talented founder was recently named one of the 'Top 20 Young South African Winemakers to Watch' by Tim Atkin MW.
  4. The Cult Red: This 99-point Syrah icon is produced by an estate awarded 'First Growth' status in Tim Atkin MW's South Africa Report, receiving a phenomenal 99 Points from him and 95+ Points from Robert Parker Wine Advocate. The latter confirmed its world-class status: "Very Rhône-like in style, it reminds me of a Jamet Côte-Rôtie..."
  5. The Legend (Sweet Wine): This historic estate is hailed as one of the 'founding fathers' of South African wine, having made this celebrated sweet wine for over 300 years. It has been awarded a stunning 98 Points from Falstaff, 96 Points by Neal Martin (Vinous), and 96 Points from Robert Parker Wine Advocate. As Neal Martin summed up its class: "Brilliant winemaking here – a South Africa legend that does not disappoint. This is awesome."
