Expect stories, adventure, activism and hope - exploring why reconnecting with our rivers matters, how small actions can create powerful ripples, and why protecting our waterways ultimately means protecting the ocean too.
Debbie Campbell — River Girl

Debbie Campbell, known as River Girl, is a passionate river educator, activist, writer and presenter dedicated to reconnecting people — especially the next generation — with our rivers.
Through River Girl, Debbie combines education, adventure and citizen science to help young people understand how rivers work, why they matter and how we can protect them. From river testing and wildlife to sewage pollution and conservation, her mission is to make river education accessible, engaging and fun.
Debbie also writes about the rivers of the Cotswolds for Cotswold Life and hosts the River Girl Podcast, using storytelling and conversation to give rivers a voice and inspire people to care for the waterways on their doorstep.
Her belief is simple: connect with a river, understand it, love it — and you’ll want to protect it.
