Firelight welcomes Visiting Artists from Woodshed Arts.

Firelight is thrilled to welcome Woodshed Arts to the studio as our 2025 Visiting Artists. Woodshed Arts, based in Chapel Hill, NC is dedicated to “celebrating new artistic works and the artists who birth them.” Led by composer Creighton Irons, the theatre company offers classes, studio time, and full tech experiences in a joyful workshop environment. Like Firelight, Woodshed Arts prioritizes creating new work through a devising + ensemble-based process. We are delighted to host their current touring production, Divinest Sense, at the Firelight Studio on Saturday, August 2 at 7pm.

Divinest Sense is a brand new musical created over the last 9 months by the Woodshed Creative Ensemble, a group of collaborative teenagers and professional artist mentors based in central NC. The show finds a joyful community in crisis as they grapple with what is "sane" and what is "insane" in today's society. Divinest Sense has something for everyone--singing! dancing! humor! drama!--but especially speaks to teenagers and young adults. Run time: less than one hour.
