Leadership in networks
Tue 23 May 2023 15:00 - 16:30 CEST
Online, Zoom
Description
How can we enable diverse people to take on leadership functions in a decentralized way?
Leaders are powerful levers for the growth and health of networks. They can help ensure activities are designed based on constituents' needs and interests, disseminate and spread core values and principles, and engage an important diversity of perspectives and ideas.
As a network grows, they can also reduce the burden on coordinating teams, helping to decentralize processes of weaving, connecting, and engagement.
But coordinating a group of leaders that effectively take on ownership and control of network processes and activities is notoriously tough. In this session, we will bring together four network leaders from around the globe to explain how they do it!.
What will I gain?
Key audience takeaways will focus on:
How to leverage leaders across a network
Methods to decentralize network processes for self-management
Different models supporting network leadership
Approaches for collective and participatory decision-making
With an incredible line-up of speakers
Network leaders, thinkers, and doers from across the world, actively experimenting with network leadership models around the globe:
- Tim Mobbs, Head of Networks, Teach First
- Alberto Masetti-Zannini, Global Development Director, Impact Hub Network
- Donita Mosoti, Lead, Partnership and Membership, Tax Justice Network Africa logo

Hosted at the Bonfire Circle
As the stars begin to shine their light across the network festival grounds, we ignite our bonfire circle. Since ancient times, the fire was where we gathered, shared stories and listened to each other's wisdom among the crackling of the wood. At the bonfire circle you can expect intimate, small conversations that support us to go deeper into the transformative power of networks. Join the circle and share your story!
