Distributing ownership and decision-making in a network
Wed 7 Jun 2023 12:00 - 13:30 CEST
Online, Zoom
Description
What are the processes, patterns, and tools that help communities make more effective decisions collectively?
Enabling many individuals to engage in the decisions across a network can be a complex and daunting task. But it need not be so!
Spreading ownership can increase transparency, accountability, and inclusivity. It can help a network guide its own strategy and actions so they become relevant to those who engage in it. And it can lead to better decisions, increased engagement, and more sustainable outcomes.
Most network leaders though face a multitude of questions as they attempt to move towards distributed structures. How do we find consensus across vast differences in ideas and opinions and navigate power dynamics? How do we balance hunger for momentum and action with the need for deep listening and consensus-making? How do we foster shared responsibility – and avoid the burden falling on the shoulders of the few?
This workshop will aim to address those questions through an interactive and participatory format – practicing what we preach!
What will I gain from attending?
- Understanding the benefits of distributing ownership and decision-making in a network
- Explore practical tools and strategies for collective decision-making
- Developing skills to navigate power dynamics and maintain momentum in a distributed network
