Community Repair
Come join us at Community Repair where we come together to fix, mend, and learn new skills in a fun and supportive environment!
By paying the £5 fee you reserve a slot at the Community Repair in advance without the need to wait on a first come, first serve basis with everyone else.
Please, be on time! After 15 minutes of absence your slot will be released to other customers.
Community Repair
Come join us for a day of fixing, mending, and repairing at 179 Queens Crescent! Whether you have a broken toaster, hairdryer or air fryer our team of skilled volunteers will be on hand to help you out. It's a great opportunity to learn new skills, meet your neighbours, and reduce waste by giving your items a second life. Don't throw it away - fix it!
At Community Repair you’ll work one-on-one with a Fixing Factory Fixer to inspect, diagnose, and repair your beloved item. No prior experience is needed, but a curiosity and willingness to learn is essential.
We ask that you stay and work with us for the duration of your repair; we cannot accept items dropped off for repair without owner being present.
We offer a few booked slots alongside a first come, first serve basis.
Refund is possible 6 days prior to the event start.
Arrive with plenty of time for your repair - we recommend you allow at least 45 minutes but some repairs can take a few hours and run over multiple sessions.
There is no charge for this service, however donations of any amount are greatly appreciated. To share our skills with as many people as possible we kindly ask that you only bring one item for repair to each session.
In order to repair an item legally, we need to check that it has a CE or UKCA mark on the body of the item. To avoid disappointment, please check that your item carries this marking before bringing it along. If you’re not sure, you can still bring your item along but be prepared that we may not be able to fix it or refund your booking fee if it doesn’t meet legal requirements for safe electronic items.

Please note that most Fixers are volunteers and availability varies week to week, so while we do try our hardest to accommodate everyone, we unfortunately can’t guarantee a repair for everyone on a first come, first serve basis.
