An Interactive Health & Wellness SPE-ICE Experience

Think you can solve a real-world challenge using LEGO? Put your creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to the test!

Flashpoint Training is excited to welcome students to LEGO Challenge Day, where innovation meets competition in an exciting, hands-on SHSM experience!

Working in teams, students will tackle a real-world Health & Wellness challenge, using LEGO bricks to bring their ideas to life. They'll brainstorm, build, test, rethink, and race against the clock to develop an innovative solution before pitching their creations to a panel of industry professionals.

Our SPE industry partner, a Health & Wellness practitioner will bring real-world industry experience to the challenge, sharing insights into careers, entrepreneurship, patient care, and the rapidly evolving world of health and wellness.

Students will also have opportunities to connect with an anticipated 3–5 additional industry professionals, who will host interactive career booths throughout the day. From exploring career pathways to asking questions about working in the industry, students will get a firsthand look at the people and professions shaping Health & Wellness.

It's part innovation challenge, part career exploration, and part friendly competition — with plenty of LEGO!

The LEGO SPE-ICE Challenge

One challenge. One team. Endless possibilities.

Students will work through the Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship (ICE) process to tackle an authentic Health & Wellness industry challenge.

Using LEGO as their creative problem-solving tool, teams will:

• Discover: Explore a real-world industry problem and identify opportunities for innovation.
• Imagine: Brainstorm creative solutions and think beyond the obvious.
• Build: Turn ideas into LEGO prototypes and visual models.
• Innovate: Test assumptions, adapt designs, and strengthen their solutions.
• Pitch: Present their ideas to our SPE industry partners and demonstrate why their solution deserves attention!

Along the way, students will develop essential workplace skills, including communication, collaboration, leadership, critical thinking, creativity, and entrepreneurship.

• Face-to-Face SPE-ICE Certification facilitated by Flashpoint Training
• Interactive LEGO Innovation Challenge with team-based problem-solving and presentations
• Career talk and hands-on Health & Wellness activity with our SPE industry partner
• Opportunities to meet and network with an anticipated 3–5 additional industry professionals at career exploration booths
• Feedback from industry professionals on student innovations
• Pizza lunch, snacks, and beverages throughout the day
• Optional online ICE programming for registered students who are unable to attend
• Access to one bonus online certification of your choice:

  4. Leadership

Our Event Policies

👥 Student Numbers: Register your expected attendance. Student substitutions are welcome, but additional students require advance approval. 

⏰ Deadline for Changes: Attendance numbers can be adjusted up to 4 weeks (30 days) before the event. After that event numbers are "locked-in" as the kids say.

💰 Payment: Payment for Events is due 30 days before the Event or we will not hold your reservation

🚌 Scheduling: We’ll do our best to accommodate your bus schedule. Please let us know about any timing requirements as early as possible.

📅 Event Dates: Dates may change based on partner availability. Final details will be confirmed at least 1 month before your visit.

🌦️ Weather Closures: Events affected by weather or unexpected school closures will be rescheduled.

🙋 Supervision: Please provide the required number of staff/chaperones according to your school board’s guidelines.

💻 No-Shows: Absent students will be charged the full event fee but may access a complimentary online training session for the same certification.
