Flashpoint Training is excited to welcome your students to an unforgettable experience at the Waterloo Airport.

On this hands on SPE-ICE, we are going to explore careers in Aviation at the Waterloo Airport.

We are going to start off the day with a tour, hands on activity at the Aircraft Mechanics hangar at the Waterloo Airport.

Then we will move to the SPE-ICE activities and lunch, with a challenge and presentations.

Then we will move to the Flight Simulator in  where students can practice flying a plane in the simulator at the Air Force Cadets Hangar.

This will be a fast paced day, with lots of activities, hands-on learning and challenges.

• Behind-the-scenes tour of the Waterloo Airport and Aircraft hangar
• Sector Partner Career Talk with Maintenance and flight professionals
• Exploration of careers in aviation, including pilots, aircraft maintenance, skilled trades, operations and related fields
• Interactive SHSM SPE-ICE  facilitated by Flashpoint Training and judged by an industry panel
• Team-based activities and challenges
• Working pizza lunch, including a selection of canned beverages
• Access to one bonus online certification of your choice:

  2. Ergonomics and Safe Lifting
  3. Communication
  4. Customer Service

***This event qualifies for our SHSM Regional Finals.

Our Event Policies

👥 Student Numbers: Register your expected attendance. Student substitutions are welcome, but additional students require advance approval. 

💰 Payment: Payment for Events is due a min of 30 days before the Event or we will not hold your reservation

🚌 Scheduling: We’ll do our best to accommodate your bus schedule. Please let us know about any timing requirements as early as possible.

📅 Event Dates: Dates may change based on partner availability. Final details will be confirmed at least 1 month before your visit.

🌦️ Weather Closures: Events affected by weather or unexpected school closures will be rescheduled.

🙋 Supervision: Please provide the required number of staff/chaperones according to your school board’s guidelines.

💻 No-Shows: Absent students will be charged the full event fee but may access a complimentary online training session for the same certification.
