Ryan Kathman, MFA, SDC, SAFD
Currently an associate professor of Acting/Directing at Nebraska Wesleyan University and an actor, director, educator, playwright, fight choreographer and dialect coach who has worked in multiple states around the Midwest and Midsouth. Besides directing at NWU, other favorite projects include adapting and directing over ten different Shakespeare plays for various companies (including a solo Hamlet production called One-Ham Manlet); producing/directing works for the Minnesota Fringe Festival, including an original Canterbury Tales adaptation called Toward Canterbury and a solo show called Blue Collar Diaries; performing on stages like the BLUEBARN Theatre (Macbeth), Nebraska Repertory Theatre (Humble Boy), Minnesota’s Jungle Theater (The Rivals), Playwright’s Center (The Sea Wolf), and Illusion Theater (Kung Fu Hamlet), as well as Memphis’ Playhouse on the Square (Spamalot) and Theatre Memphis (Doubt), in addition to roles in short and feature-length films and various commercials. Locally, Ryan as collaborated with Flatwater Shakespeare, Angels Theatre Company, Lincoln Community Playhouse, and several area high schools. Member of Stage Directors & Choreographers Society and an Advanced Actor/Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors.
