Give it a Go: Watercolour Painting in London

Fancy trying your hand at watercolour painting?

Join experienced Flavours art tutor Mark Holden for another of our ‘Give it a Go’ days, this time at the beautiful Home Grown in Marylebone.

Designed especially for beginners, the day is all about trying something new, learning a few skills and discovering just how enjoyable painting can be – with absolutely no previous experience required.

We’ll start the morning by heading out with Mark to find inspiration in the streets and surroundings of Marylebone. Mark will show you how an artist looks at a scene, notices the details and begins to think about turning what they see into a painting.

We’ll then return to Home Grown for lunch together, before spending the afternoon getting creative in a relaxed watercolour workshop with Mark.

Who is it for?

Complete beginners! If you’ve always fancied trying painting but haven’t quite known where to start, this is your opportunity to give it a go in a friendly and encouraging environment with fellow Amici.

What should I bring?

Just bring yourself! We’ll provide all the art materials you need for the day, so there’s no need to buy or bring any equipment.

What will I learn?

Mark will introduce you to the basics of watercolour painting, including shape, movement, colour and blending, helping you turn some of the inspiration gathered in the morning into your own piece of artwork.

The aim is simply to give painting a go, learn something new and build your confidence – and you might just discover a new hobby along the way.
