Give it a Go: Photography in London

Ever fancied taking better photographs? Now’s your chance to give it a go!

Join experienced Flavours photography tutor Mark Holden for a relaxed day of photography in London, designed especially for complete beginners.

We’ll start the morning by heading out with Mark to explore some of London’s streets and architecture. Along the way, he’ll show you how to look at familiar surroundings differently – spotting interesting details, finding unusual angles and learning how to turn what you see into a great photograph.

We’ll then return to Home Grown in Marylebone for lunch together, followed by a relaxed creative workshop where you can look at some of the photographs you’ve taken, learn a few more techniques and put your new skills into practice.

Who is it for?

Complete beginners! If you enjoy taking photographs but would love to know how to make them better, this is a chance to learn something new in a relaxed and encouraging environment with fellow Amici.

What should I bring?

Just bring something that takes photographs – your phone is absolutely fine. If you already have a camera you enjoy using, you’re very welcome to bring that instead.

What will I learn?

Mark will introduce you to some of the simple techniques that can transform your photographs, including composition, light, perspective and how to spot interesting architectural details.

The aim is to leave with new skills, more confidence behind the camera and a collection of photographs you’re proud of – and perhaps the beginnings of a new hobby.
