Fleapit Cinema and Junkyard Magazine are teaming up to present avery special screening of Avalon Fast and Jillian Frank's DRINKING AND DRIVING at the iconic Propeller Arcade and Cinema with both filmmakers in attendance!

Early twenties Iris and Palmer never left their hometown. They work at the same restaurant, share the same bed, and both have a habit of drinking and driving. They run into Levi, a guy they used to know. They spend time with him and his cousin, Phoenix, in cars, backyards, and other people’s bedrooms. When Levi shares a dream he had with Iris things change between the four of them. The reality of the summer becomes faded, the parties die. The four end in a field of unified confusion.

It's the Summer of 2016 in the town you always said you were leaving. You're in love with your best friend but neither of you ever say it out loud. Looking into her eyes and drinking to die. What if that summer never ended? Avalon Fast and Jillian Frank's DRINKING AND DRIVING emerged from the new wave of Canadian DIY cinema earlier this year and set itself apart by excavating awkward intimacies of love, grief, and alcohol ten years ago against the all-too-relatable dreamy haze of small town living. Trampoline sleepovers, dirtbikes, and text messages. It's been heralded as the best movie of the year by most who've seen it! After its warm screening at this year's Halifax Independent Filmmakers Festival, we are so excited to be bringing Avalon and Jillian and their movie back to the big screen for one night only.

There will be a Q&A with Avalon and Jillian following the screening, moderated by Junkyard's Taya Poworoznyk and Trinity Gadway.
