Description
A special treat in the 1910's Lifford Hall, Broadway. We'll be bringing a bar and that Fleecey Folk feeling, Melrose bring their superb sounds (and a post-show session back at the Fleece).
Melrose Quartet consists of Nancy Kerr (voice, fiddle), James Fagan (voice, bouzouki, guitar), Jess Arrowsmith (voice, fiddle), and Richard Arrowsmith (voice, melodeons). With a sound that blends robust English dance music instrumentals and stunning four-part harmonies, Melrose are a versatile and dynamic group, delivering music of the highest quality.
We can't wait for the choruses to raise the roof of the beautiful Lifford Hall.
Rooted in Sheffield’s vibrant music, song, and dance scene, Melrose Quartet has gained a reputation for creating music that deeply resonates with audiences. All four members are highly regarded as singers, instrumentalists, composers, and educators, as well as patrons of Whitby Folk Festival.
Their latest album, Make The World Anew, released in September 2023, debuted at Number 11 on the Official Folk Charts, building on the critical acclaim of their previous albums, Dominion and The Rudolph Variations. Their debut, Fifty Verses, was nominated for Best Album at the 2014 BBC Folk Awards.
