Nigel Night V3

Can we beat our own World Record? Join us for the largest gathering of Nigels in a pub. The event is free but registration is required and donations are welcomed for the British Heart Foundation.

IT'S BACK! With Nigel’s becoming extinct (no babies were named Nigel in recent National Statistics reports, but let’s face it, that’s not too surprising!) we felt we ought to have a gathering of fellow (nice) Nigel’s – before it’s too late! The previous events in 2019 & 2022 were so joyous we wanted to do it again.

All Nigel’s attending will get a Nigel badge and free pint, on proof of their name. Non-Nigels are also welcome. 

The pub is open all day, the usual pub menu served at lunchtime & we will be offering street food in the orchard in the evening, with bars open in the barn, marquee and pub.

CAMPING:  on nearby farmland, limited facilities - book here - sales closed 

SUNDAY BREAKFAST: Option to book in for Sunday breakfast - book here - fully booked 

EVESHAM SHUTTLE BUS: We will be running a bus to the Fleece from Evesham High Street & the Premier Inn at Evesham Country Park A46, Evesham WR11 4TP

PARKING : please follow the signage to nearby field parking  (£5 donation per car).

FUNDRAISING: We are raising funds for The British Heart Foundation. Thanks to everyone who donated when registering. There will be collection buckets at the pub.

We’ve partnered with the British Heart Foundation to try and raise some money for charity throughout the evening, do bring cash for the donation buckets if you can.

Registration

Please can all Nigels come to the Registration desk (horsebox) on arrival (with Nigel id!) to get their free drink voucher and badge. T-shirts will also be available to buy and The Book of Nigel will be there all evening for you to sign. All profits from merchandise will go to the British Heart Foundation.

Vital Vitals

We are serving our usual pub menu 12-2.30 & 6-9pm. The pub itself is fully booked (with Nigels!) but you can order at the bar and eat in the barn or marquee. We are also selling food from 3pm til late in the orchard: wood-fired pizza & hog roast.

11am pub opens

12noon main food service starts.

3pm The others bars & food options open

3pm Pub Quiz in the Marquee

from 4pm live music with busking Nigel, Silver Sounds Nigel & Piper Nigel

Elemental Morris are with us in the afternoon, and the stratch Nigel Morris practise at 6pm for a 7pm dance out

8pm The Nigel count & awards

Followed by more live music with the Lockdown Layabouts in the marquee

11pm – music curfew for the Barn/Marquee

After that, the pub stays open, acoustic music sessions welcomed.

This will be at the Registration desk (horsebox) for all to sign & add stories / photos. We’ll then add the messages we’ve had from non-attending Nigels and keep at the Fleece for future Nigels to sign.

We don’t have a cloakroom or dress code – come dressed for the weather! The orchard might be a little muddy, the courtyard is cobbled.

Well-behaved dogs (especially those named Nigel) are very welcome – please keep them on a lead.

Can we set a new World Record for the largest gathering of people with the same first name!? Pre-Registrations look like we’re close, fingers crossed!

434 Nigels attended the first Nigel Night in 2019, setting a World Record, and many more have since visited the Fleece to sign ‘the Book of Nigel’ that is kept behind the bar.
